When it comes to paying more attention to the studies, many environmental factors play role in distracting the student. There can be noise, hustle from the traffic of people in the surroundings, the additional and louder sounds of the media around, the uncomfortable place where the students is trying to study, and much more. With all these distractions, there some tips that can help in having more focus when studying or writing dissertation or any academic paper.. 
1. Make sure that before the student sits to study, the mind has been set. The student should be in the decision mode that all he has to do in the next hour or so is to study. If the students is not in the decisive mood and he is not well planned, no matter how comfortable and stress free the area is, he will not be able to finish until the end. Thereby it is the will power of the student that counts.

2. One of the main tips for increasing focus is that the students should have made decisions on what he has to study and how he plans to do so. The mind must be clear as to what has to be done in the time to come. The successful students are the ones who know what they have to do and how they plan to do it. They are aware of what they are doing.

3. For increasing focus, one has to think and plan focus sued. When the student plans to study science, and he is thinking about that particular soccer match, he would only waste his time in format of that book.

4. The place and the table that has been chosen to study is the one that should be away from any hustle and disturbance. There should be no noise. It is the noise that also becomes one of the maijn sources of distractions for the students.

It is important that all electronic devices be switched off. All cell phones, radios, Xboxes, and television sets are to be switched off. These are also one of the main sources of distractions. It is to be mentioned here that switching off is not important, it is important that one should stop thinking about all these devices.

5. Increased distractions also come from the fact that the students are increasingly stressed and confused about their subject matter. It is important that the area and the content that is creating confusion in the students be discussed with the teachers as well as the peers. Once the confusions are clarified, focusing becomes easier.

6. In addition, the students need to focus on the fact that the studies are important. They need to be prioritized. The other activities are all of lesser value and importance. Thereby the focus is important and this helps in increasing the focus of the student.
